1. Procedures involving animals must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
(http://web.research.colostate.edu/ricro/acuc/acuc.aspx) before initiation. Proposed changes to previously approved procedures must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee before initiation.
2. Check animals daily and document. LAR performs these functions for animals under their direct care.
3. Provide appropriate husbandry and care to all animals. LAR performs this role for animals under their direct care.
4. Notify a veterinarian (http://web.research.colostate.edu/LAR/staff_detail.aspx)
whenever you believe an animal needs medical attention. LAR takes care of this responsibility for animals under their control.
5. Participate in the Occupational Health Program (http://portal.research.colostate.edu/acp/OHP.aspx).
6. Know policies and procedures
related to care and use of animals (http://web.research.colostate.edu/ricro/acuc/policies.aspx).
7.Report any animal welfare concerns to the University Veterinarian, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee or to LAR (http://portal.research.colostate.edu/acp/ReportConcerns.aspx).
