ARRA Funding Opportunities
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA or Reinvestment Act) was designed to make supplemental appropriations for job preservation and creation, infrastructure investment, energy efficiency and science, assistance to the unemployed, and State and local fiscal stabilization, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2009. Each agency has specific guidelines for obtaining ARRA funds in addition to the general uses of the funding prescribed by the Act. The ARRA funds must be allocated by federal agencies within the next two years. The VPR Office continues to monitor a variety of sources for agency announcements of opportunities for funding supported by the ARRA. Please visit this site on a regular basis for updates on ARRA issues. If you have not already, please sign up for our recent announcement email notification for news of interest to faculty and staff involved in research.
The Act requires agencies to post ARRA opportunities on one of three web outlets depending on the funding vehicle. Grants and cooperative agreements will be posted on www.grants.gov, contracts will be posted on www.fbo.gov,and loan guarantees will be posted on www.govloans.gov.
To the greatest extent possible Sponsored Programs expects to use existing processes to apply for and administer ARRA programs and funds. If you have any questions concerning these processes or ARRA oportunities, please contact the Senior Research Administrator assigned to your college or school.
